Hope you all have a great Easter.
Go easy on the chocolate!!
Sunday 16th March 2008-
As the weather was a little bit unsettled we decided we'd do a couple of geocaches this morning & then see how the weather faired. Our plan was to do the caches around Como then if it was warm enough we planned to take Elises's kayak to Matilda Bay where Derek also fancied having a go windsurfing! The sun came out and so did the kayak! Derek got his chance too! After hiring the surf board Derek spent on hour in the water & after struggling for half of that time, finally made progress!

Friday 14th March 2008-
Well, it was just an average Friday evening... we were relaxing at home when a car suddenly ploughed through the top part of our front garden into a tree!!! The driver (adolescent, no license!) said he had been nudged off the road by a transit van (methinks not!!) Incidentally, it turned out it wasn't his car & he'd been drinking... We reminded the driver that he was lucky the car hadn't fallen the two metres into the lower part of our garden as he & his passengers probably wouldn't have walked away uninjured. The Police came & after a breath test, escorted him to the station!
Sunday 9th March 2008-
We had planned to visit the outdoor moonlight cinema in Kings Park on friday night after our meal but as the weather was a bit dodgy we decided we had to do it tonight as it was the last screening for the season. Our film for tonight was 'The Sound of Music', top choice for me but not so hot for Derek!!
Saturday 8th March 2008-
Yep, its that time again, the annual Chilli Festival. Made our pilgrimage once again with the very entertaining company of the Van Hoeks.
We were spoilt for choice with the selection of chilli laden edibles & beverages in the beautiful surroundings of Araluen Botanical Park.

Friday 7th March 2008-
Elise had her 1st Clarinet lesson today!
Its a scary thought but Derek & I met 18 years ago today (Hull University, Sandkings gig... thanks Diane )!!!!!!
Thought we'd celebrate the fact (any excuse for a good nosh up) & we went to 'Panchos Villa' Mexican restaurant....v tasty!
Thursday 6th March 2008-
Spoke with Mum on the phone, unfortunately both her & Dad are full of cold so she didn't have any plans for the day.

Monday 3rd March 2008-
Derek, not wanting to let our long weekend go to waste planned a day out snorkelling for us!
Our first destination was Hillarys, 'Boy in a Boat Reef'. The weather was perfect but as we climbed rocks and located the reef (70m from the rock wall) it became obvious that the sea wasn't as calm as we'd hoped. Derek (being Derek!) jumped in anyway, as did Elise whilst Drew & I stayed on the rocks to look after our belongings (thats our story & we're sticking to it!!). Derek & Elise swam out to the reef but soon returned dissapointed as the swell had made visibilty near impossible. We decided to head onto South Cottasloe where they had been the previous Thursday. I was quite excited to swim this reef after hearing about all the fish they had seen last time, however, again there was too much swell & the water was far too murky to see much at all.
Ice cream (kids) & a nice coffee (adults) at Cottasloe made up for the dissapointment ;-)
Hope you have a great day Lynn :-)
Had a lazy day today. Didn't get in till early hours so was hoping for a lay in...the cats thought otherwise though! Had a nice morning though watching Top Gear back to back! Derek, Drew & Elise watched a movie this arvo whilst I had a nanna nap! Pim came around late afternoon & took me out for a bike ride. I've never been on a bike before so he thought it might be a good idea for me to get familiar with a bike before I take my lessons. I was a tad bit nervous but soon got used to the speed & must admit it was absolutely exhilarating! I loved it!!
Saturday 1st March 2008-
We went to a 50th birthday bash this evening, only around the corner at Pries Park Soccer club. It ended up to be a good night, had a few laughs...the tequila helped!!
Thursday 28th February 2008-
The teachers here decided to take half day strike action. Even though schools were still open, children were more or less asked not to attend! Of course, Drew & Elise were gutted & even more gutted when Derek decided to take the day off work to take them snorkelling! I unfortunately couldn't come as I still had to work :-(
After looking around on Google Earth Derek came across an area of reef at south Cottasloe & after reading up a bit on it decided it would be a good place to try for snorkelling! It turned out to be a top place & they spotted amongst and array of fish, a 1.2 mtr wide Eagle Ray!
